Farmers are Busy

Looks like these tractors are ready to go!! The farmers are getting nervous with the date and the rain in the forecast for the next several days. This time last year, they were planting.

The planter - they've been working on the tractor they use for planting (it's in the shed), adding Auto Steer.

Bill went to an auction a few weeks ago looking for some lights for the shop at Tim's. They ended up getting 20 for $20.00 each. They sold 4 and put up 11. They're metal halide lights (big). The shop is nice and bright for working now! They love it.

Notice Tim's up high on the scaffolding held up by the forklift. He seems to like working in high places!

This last picture was taken inside the tractor (JD 8300). The touch screen monitor is for the auto steer, the small black box controls the planter folding and the markers and the other one controls the insecticide. Auto steer means . . . straight rows hopefully, Bill says! It works off of satellites. It means that he won't have to steer until he gets to the end of the rows when he'll have to turn. This gives some drivers time to text on their cell phones, etc. but you have to remember to watch what's going on in the field too.

Wow, the "cockpit" of the tractor looks like the cockpit of a small plane. Well, not really, but look at all the gadgets and controls and computers.
