Greater Rolfe Days - day 3 and Too Much Rain

I took these pictures yesterday when going to Humboldt. The very old Bradgate bridge is still closed due to high water - it's a low bridge!! You can see in these pictures either still standing water in the fields or where the water has drained or soaked in and it's just bare ground now. Lots of these spots around.

Sun. was the firemen's omelet breakfast for Greater Rolfe Days. It was a success - fed about 170 people efficiently. All of the firemen are good workers! Unfortunately, I forgot my camera!

We had 8 individual burners with skillets set up in a row. People would come in and put what they wanted in their omelets in a cup at the beginning of the line. (ham, onions, green peppers, mushrooms) Then they would go to a "cooker" who was cooking an omelet. They would then dump on the person's ingredients and sprinkle on cheese. Pretty good way of doing it! We also had sausage, muffins and drinks.

Bill actually made omelets the whole time and they looked good! (he says that he can't cook at home!) I had made 4 doz. muffins, and mostly worked in the kitchen and behind the line keeping things filled & cleaned up. Had a couple of the firemen also working in the kitchen cracking eggs (56 doz.) and anything else that needed to be done!

This weekend we found we had a problem with ceiling lights in about half the house! The electrician was here about 4 hours yesterday and found we had a bad outside floodlight.

Today I went with my P.E.O. group to Lake Okoboji for a luncheon and then on to a former Rolfe chapter member's home for dessert. Saw Bill was spraying our bean field when I got home around 6:00.

It's going to be HOT tomorrow: heat index over 100.
