Greater Rolfe Days - day 2

This morning was the parade. This entry was a hearse and lots of scary people advertising for the haunted house in Oct. in the town of Marathon. It's supposed to be a good one.

This was my favorite entry - our church bus with music and puppets singing while hanging out the windows.

A 4 box seed tender. The lady in the back of the pickup makes probably the best yeast type doughnut things in town!

Thought this pickup was cute - the dairy family - and they were throwing out some ice cream sandwiches! They followed a big milk tanker truck - Swiss Valley/Dutchland Dairy.

Bill & Bryan were in this fire truck. They didn't see me.

This calliope, owned by someone in our town, was in all 3 local parades advertising for different companies in each!

The horses were at the end for obvious reasons! Bill said that sometimes when the fire trucks have been last with the horses in front of them that it doesn't work so well. The horses don't like the sirens!

After the parade, we had lunch with Peggy at the Lutheran Church. The VFW ladies always do a really nice salad lunch (they all make big buckets of different salads like 5 Cup, 3 Bean, Potato, Macaroni, fluffy ones, etc.) with a choice of Maidrite, ham or turkey sandwich. There is also pie and homemade ice cream.

We came home and I worked on the landscaping, and Bill got the "floor" of the deck done. Tonight is the rodeo but we're not going. We're recuperating and getting ready for working at the firemen's omelet breakfast tomorrow from 7-12:00.

Tell Uncle Bill that he has to sign up to drive the truk next year so my three kids can ride and throw out candy. They've got it all worked out on who will sit where:)

No problem, he's in it every year! Would be fun and something they'd remember!
