Mom just had her second knee replacement surgery here at Indiana University North Hospital in Carmel on Tues. She came home yesterday. She has a really good surgeon (Dr. Hur - click on his name to read about him plus see a picture) and is doing well. She had her other knee replaced in March 2010.
Here, the therapist comes to your home. He'll be here today and at least five days in a row before a break. They really want you to get on it right after surgery to have the best outcome. Icing to keep the swelling down, keeping up with the pain medicine and a healthy diet is important too.
This second picture shows water shooting up along the sidewalk - different.
Mom was on the 5th floor and the Life Line helicopter was outside her window. During the three days she was there I saw it land twice with patients.
When we were ready to leave yesterday, someone from food service came and asked what kind of sandwich we'd like to have with a lunch they'd pack for us to take home. Then they brought this cute bag with a large turkey sandwich with little jars of Dijon mustard and mayo., bag of chips, an apple, 2 cookies, white chocolate covered pretzel rod, orange dark chocolate bar, hand towel, and 2 bottles of water. It was nice to just come home and not have to think about lunch, but also would be good for those traveling home farther distances and not feeling like stopping.
