This dessert was always popular at our church's Wed. night meals we had in Carmel.
OREO ICE CREAM DESSERT
26 Oreo cookies, crushed (in a bag with a rolling pin)
1/3 c. butter, melted
1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream
1 jar Hershey's fudge topping
1 8 oz. Cool Whip, thawed
Add melted butter to crushed Oreos and mix. Spread in 9 x 13 pan. Slice ice cream and layer over cookies. Microwave topping a few seconds until warm enough to pour. Pour over ice cream. Freeze until solid. Spread Cool Whip over topping. Cover and freeze. To serve, get the dessert out while eating so that it will be easier to cut.
*for Christmas, tint Cool Whip green or red.
