More Porch Railing

Greg & Bill F. are here again this evening working on the porch railing - the sides by the steps. Looking good.

All morning I worked on putting things away in the stamp room which makes the big room in the basement also look much better!

Bill had a 1:00 appointment at the FSA office, and I went to help a group I belong to paint the outside of a house. Bill has been moving more dirt around the house this evening. Nice day again with rain expected all weekend.

Railing

Greg & Bill F. were here this evening putting up the railing on the front porch. Will be back to finish it tomorrow night.

I had to be in Humboldt this morning so went on to Ft. Dodge to return a couple things and to go to Walmart. I had been letting supplies dwindle so we wouldn't have to move it! It was great shopping at Walmart this morning - very few people!

Mark K. was here bright and early to install the stamp room carpet and he cut our indoor/outdoor carpet for the screened porch. So now I have lots of work to do getting my room organized which will make the basement look a lot better!

I had scheduled my Indiana stamp class for customers and my downline meeting around mom's knee surgery 6/18 but now that her surgery has been postponed, I still need to do these stamp events that people have put on their calendar weeks ago. So, much to do before leaving for Ind. next Thurs.!

Typical Day

These are my chives in bloom that I brought from Indiana.

It was a mostly sunny day around 70. Bill has been spraying weeds in the corn and beans yesterday and today. I transported him from place to place 2 or 3 times today like this evening from Tim's house where he had driven and left the sprayer back to the field for him to drive the truck carrying the water for the sprayer to the bin site to leave it there and then back home where his pickup was.

I went to the pharmacy in Pocahontas and stopped to see Diane at her salon. I cleaned some window screens that have been dirty since they were put in and started cleaning up a treadmill and exercise bike that are very dirty that we got from Glenn's shop. They'll go in our office.

Last night Bill went to a fire dept. meeting and tonight he's at a grocery board meeting.

I'm going to Humboldt in the morning for blood work before a physical next week and then on to Ft. Dodge to go to Walmart. Not sure I want to go since Tim & Bette Jo had a tire cut and their car keyed while they were in Hobby Lobby today!

What a Sunset!

Our neighbor brought us her "very chocolatey brownies" when we moved in - in a nice throwaway container. So I decided I wanted to return it to her - filled back up. So today I made Grandma's Jackpot Drops on my roomy kitchen counter! Have I mentioned that I love cooking & baking in the new kitchen?! I'm going to post a bunch of kitchen pics soon for the women readers that love kitchens!

I was working on the computer doing some stamping related e mail and noticed out of the corner of my eye that it looked pretty orange outside so grabbed the camera and went outside. WOW, what a neat sunset! And several minutes later now it's changing but still pretty. Did you all see it like this too??

It was a great, windows open day. Friend, Terri, came over this afternoon to see the house and was saying it was a shame that we were going to just tear down the old house. I asked her if she wanted to go see it now that everything is out including the kitchen cabinets. Also took her down to the basement to see the buckling walls and where I did laundry. Her comments were "oh my" and that she would not be able to go down there to do laundry or otherwise, now she sees why we're tearing down the house and as she was leaving said "You enjoy your new house!" :) (including the sunsets)

Stampin' Up! Updates

Hmmm, for some reason lately, my Stampin' Up! business has been on the back burner (see previous posts!). But tomorrow is an important day that I need to mention.

For all stampers and especially those that love our SU! products, this is an exciting time of year. Tomorrow our Last Chance List will come out. This year, this will be a list of stamp sets AND accessories that will be discontinued with the release of the new catalog which is July 1. So you'll have a month to get those sets you've been eyeing but haven't purchased yet. Check my web site for any specials that may happen as this catalog year ends! (my web site is at the top right of this blog)

If you're a fan of YouTube videos, Stampin' Up! now has several short videos here: www.youtube.com/stampinupvideo. (may need to copy and paste into your Internet browser) It's a great way to quickly and easily watch how to use our Big Shot and several other products plus meet the owner of Stampin' Up!, Shelli Gardner. She and her sister started SU! in one of their living rooms 20 years ago!

NICE Day

I don't know what the temperature was or is today but it sure is perfect! Bill's brother and sister & family were in town today so we had them over for a cookout at lunch time. We had been talking about trains so the kids were thrilled when one actually came through!

I forgot to take a picture when everyone was sitting nicely with their filled plates so here is one with everyone watching the train. What we were most curious about was the man that had been walking on the track but then got down below the trestle when it passed!

We had the good old dirt pudding with snakes (gummy worms) for dessert. The twins asked for more snakes! The "snakes" are going to make me smile for a long time!

After lunch, Karen, Dave, kids & Bill went to get some field rocks that they're going to use in their landscaping. Jim, Peggy & I sat on the screened porch. Ahhhh, nice day.
